Wolverhampton Riots – One Year On – invite

Join artist Sally Payen for a discussion about her latest body of work commissioned by Wolverhampton Art Gallery.
One Year On revisits the scenes of Wolverhampton’s 2011 riots, which were part of the national unrest experienced last August. Working from CCTV images, web, video, newspaper and social media sources, Payen has interpreted the events of last summer through a series of dreamlike paintings and drawings.
This event is part of the Junction Festival of Contemporary Arts taking place between
3 – 5 August in Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton.
A tour of Wolverhampton’s studio spaces starting from Eagle Works Gallery and Studio at 1pm will end at Wolverhampton Art Gallery at 3 pm in time for Payen’s talk.
Drinks provided. Free entry, donations welcome.
